Academic Training

A total of 180 credits (ECTS) are required to earn the Ph.D. in Innovation for the Circular Economy, 120 of which are awarded for research related to the preparation of the dissertation and 60 of which must be earned through didactic activities.

Research activities

Research activities are the core of the PhD program, and consists in the development of a research project under the supervision of a Tutor-Team. The TT will train the PhD students on the specific aspects of their research, help them plan their research, and discuss any issues and achievements.

Didactic activities

Circular Economy and its industrial applications is an intrinsically multidisciplinary field, while enrolled students will have a background focused on the specific topic of their undergraduate studies. Therefore, the PhD program will encourage the students to attend a wide variety of courses in different disciplines and of different level. Each student will be individually advised on the choice of courses, according to his/her scientific background and to the specific needs related with his/her research project

In particular, at least 24 ECTS of the required 60 ECTS must be earned through the courses of the PhD Programme in Innovation for the Circular Economy

The remaining 36 ECTS are freely chosen by the student and can be accumulated through: PhD courses offered by institutions outside the Innovation for the Circular Economy doctoral program, seminars, workshops, summer schools, and participation in congresses and conferences.
