About this programme

The 'Industrial' PhD programme is a new form of cooperation between Universities and companies introduced by the 2013 reform of PhD programs.

An industrial PhD program allows companies to train their employees, already engaged in highly-qualified activities, within the framework of a PhD program.

It is made possible by an underlying agreement between the University and each supporting company, establishing the program and the modalities to perform research activities within the company, the share of overall commitment of the employee and the intellectual property of the research outcome.

PhD students enrolled in the program that are not employees of a supporting company will nevertheless benefit from the exposure to the world of industrial applied research and will develop their research project in collaboration with research groups of companies or in an academic framework.
